Anonymous asked: Is there any hope for WOXY at this point?

Dear anonymous tumblr reader, that’s the million dollar question, isn’t it?

As far as I can tell, the answer to that question appears to be ‘I don’t think so.’

All of the contents of the station were moved from Austin to Los Angeles a few weeks back and put into storage.

I do believe with all my heart that the INTENTION is to try and resurrect the brand at some point, but the economy is still so awful and the music industry is in a shambles so it looks like the attempts at finding funding/investing/sponsorship money have all continued to turn up short.

WOXY was a huge part of my life for almost 20 years and I’m sadder than anybody to see it go, but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

In the meantime, I am still wholeheartedly on the hunt for a new job and now that it has been 5+ months since the station shut down, I am really starting to feel the crunch. If anybody has any leads or potential opportunities, please shoot them my way: mattshiv @ att dot net
